29 December 2006 – A new website
has been launched, announcing the mission of the “Focused Ultrasound Surgery
Foundation (FUSF),” based in Charlottesville, VA. The site broadcasts the group’s plans to engage in “education,
translational and clinical research, and creation of a network of research and
development centers.” The board of
directors includes, among others, Joseph
Hogan, president and CEO of GE health care, and Kobi Vortman, founder,
president, and Chief Executive Officer InSightec Ltd., as well as an impressive
scientific advisory board consisting of world-renown experts.
